Shape Resilient Water Futures.
Share your research, knowledge, and practical experience at the 11th IWA-ASPIRE Conference & Expo 2027, taking place on 25–30 October 2027 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Philippines.
Under the theme “Resilient Water Futures: Innovation, Inclusion, and Integrity,” the conference invites researchers, water professionals, utility leaders, policymakers, academics, young water professionals, and innovators to contribute solutions addressing current and emerging water and sanitation challenges.
THEMATIC TRACKS,
TOPICS AND SUBTOPICS
TRACK 1: RURAL WATER & SANITATION
- Rural Water Security: Strategies for safe supply, climate resilience, groundwater sustainability, emergency planning, quality monitoring, and off-grid or nature-based solutions for small systems.
- Rural Sanitation & WASH: Systems for non-sewered areas, cost-effective technologies, hygiene initiatives, facility management in schools/health centers, gender inclusion, and emergency responses.
TRACK 2: URBAN WATER MANAGEMENT
- Integrated Urban Water Management: Focused on disaster risks, urban flood resilience, green infrastructure, water-sensitive design, demand control, and nature-based solutions.
- Non-Revenue Water (NRW): Addressing leakage, smart metering, District Metered Areas, asset optimization, water audits, digital tools, and utility efficiency.
- Water & Environmental Protection: Watershed conservation, urban river restoration, pollution mitigation, ecosystem strategies, climate impact management, and coastal/marine risk reduction.
TRACK 3: TREATMENT TECHNOLOGIES & CIRCULAR ECONOMY
- Water & Wastewater Treatment: Innovations in drinking water and wastewater, membrane filtration, low-carbon processes, emerging contaminants, hybrid systems, and digital automation.
- Sludge & Septage Management: Advanced treatment, collection/transport logistics, operational safety, decentralized methods, and beneficial reuse of biosolids.
- Resource Recovery: Energy/biogas generation, nutrient extraction, water reclamation, innovative recycling, and waste-to-resource circular models.
TRACK 4: INCLUSIVE & NON-SEWERED SANITATION (NSS)
- NSS Systems & Technologies: Creative decentralized solutions and containment innovations.
- Faecal Sludge Management: Effective collection, specialized treatment, and reuse.
- Business & Scaling: Developing sustainable business models and strategies for large-scale adoption.
- Health & Safety: Comprehensive risk management and protection for sanitation workers.
- Inclusive Sanitation: Promoting equity, public health, strategic service planning, and behavioral change.
TRACK 5: GOVERNANCE, POLICY & SUSTAINABLE FINANCE
- Financing & Partnerships: Tariffs, financial modeling, PPP mechanisms, blended finance, creditworthiness, and climate-related loss and damage funds.
- Governance & Regulation: Performance standards, policy reform, transparency, accountability, and utility capacity enhancement.
- Leadership & Institutional Development: Strengthening utility frameworks, thought leadership, and empowering emerging water professionals.
TRACK 6: SMART WATER & EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES
- Digital Water Systems: Implementing digital transformation, smart sensors, and advanced monitoring.
- AI & Data Science: Utilizing forecasting, process optimization, and digital twin technology.
- Advanced Analytical Tools: Leveraging GIS, remote sensing, and robust cybersecurity.
Submissions will be reviewed based on their relevance to the conference theme, technical quality, originality, clarity, practical value, and alignment with the selected track. Accepted abstracts may be assigned to either an oral or poster presentation.
